IntroSay Or Do, a 4-piece alt-rock band hailing from Hawke’s Bay, delivers a dynamic blend of chill vibes and power riffs. Drawing comparisons to late 90’s rock acts like Incubus, Bush, and Silverchair, while subtly infusing their music with a Kiwi touch, their sound delves into introspective themes while maintaining high-energy performances. With a focus on crafting authentic, raw soundscapes, Say Or Do offers a genuine rock experience that resonates with audiences.
The low end... Justin(JP) plays bass, I'm unable to find much about him but his intro on facebook says he makes music because it's a ladder to his soul and infuses him with joy, connects him with fantastic people, and rejuventaes his sprit! He says it's just cool too. I agree making music is really cool!
The texture king... Kazuki plays guitar, I know a bit more about him since I know him on a personal level but this is about who he is in the band! Kazuki's intro intrals that he grew up not really knowing how to to communicate with people. He saw the music video for Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage" on MTV when he was little, he decided then that if he were to do anything in life it would be to make music and play those songs all around the world. He states he's been a musical person since childhood. His goal is to create a lot of tunes and and be involved as much as he can, and whether he's living or passed on, he'll have a huge catalog to show for all his effort throughout his life. He states music helps him communicate when the words don’t come out, and his guitar has always been really good with that.
The OG... Sam is the singer and plays guitar as well, from what i can find Sam made Say Or Do with the plan of it being a band, a goal that was achived in Janurary of 2024. Say Or Do as a musical piece as existed since 2012 as thats when the first facebook post was created. Sam makes music because it serves many purposes. He says it's a release of emotion, but also a way to connect with others. He states sometimes it feels like you're communing with the universe when you're creating something out of nothing. He says that's kind of wild.
My shrine for the New Zealand band Say Or Do!
